IT Business Analyst

The IT Business Analyst plans, defines, designs, coordinates, manages, and contributes to the definition of IT Programs and their projects through jointly owning IT product roadmap definition, project requirements, application functionality, stakeholder management, and user testing.  
Manages and performs all aspects of requirements gathering for IT projects within a defined Program
Documents, presents information, and leads discussions related to process flows, high-level business requirements, detailed functional requirements, use cases, data flows, UI mock-ups, and user test scripts for Program team
Demonstrates the ability to contribute to multiple concurrent high visibility technology projects
Troubleshoots and understands application functionality from a user perspective
Acts as subject matter expert for corresponding business unit(s) and how technology enables the business
Understands how requirements impact application design and end-user functionality
Maintains Program pipeline in conjunction with contributing to project scope definition, including defects and enhancements
Creates application, Program, and/or project roadmap(s) in conjunction with stakeholders to provide visibility into business and technology needs
Collaborates with project team to help rationalize, plan, scope, and schedule future projects
Works with business partners to develop technological concepts and requirements for new system initiatives
Contributes to ITSC (Information Technology Steering Committee) meetings for Program roadmap and strategy
Completes and assists with Program status reports and project presentations
Collaborates with team members with assigned tasks and manages own project tasks on a day-to-day basis
Works closely with all IT roles including governance, project management, architecture, development, infrastructure and IT security teams in completing assigned activities
Works with individuals and teams across platforms, applications, and/or business lines
Provides consistent and comprehensive status updates on a regular basis
Contributes to the processes and the methodologies pertaining to the business analysis of projects as part of IT Governance and acts as an expert knowledgeable of all aspects of their use and deployment
Participates in lessons learned at the end of each project
Performs problem management responsibilities as needed
Assists other business analyst resources as needed
Assists PMO and/or Governance functions with status and metric reporting as needed
Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned
Required Skills and Knowledge:
Competency in computer programs: MS Office and Visio; off-the shelf and proprietary software applications
Experience with requirements, prototyping, and development team collaboration tools
Familiar with project management tools
Possesses multi-limb and eye-hand coordination
Able to work extended hours during critical project phases
Comfortable with application design, data management, enterprise architecture, and user-centered design principles
Excellent communication, writing, critical thinking, analytical, and presentation skills
Able to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Ability to work on projects with a professional attitude and exceptional organizational skills under pressure
Ability to collaborate with peers and drive consensus across multiple stakeholders and organizations
Travel may be required to other office locations on a rare and limited basis

Physical Requirements
Sit/stand/walk 8-12hr/day
Lift/carry/push/pull under and over 10lbs occasionally
Keying frequency, handling, reaching, fine manipulation
Education and Experience:
•Business Analyst certification a plus
•BA or BS degree in related discipline, or equivalent experience
•BABOK preferred but not required

•Min 2+  years’ experience with IT business analysis with software projects
•Demonstrated experience analyzing business processes implications for requirements on projects
•Demonstrated experience analyzing business needs and requirements for various types of software projects
•Experience with industry standard requirements gathering, documentation, management, and validation methodologies
•Experience creating project artifacts to facilitate the business analysis process
•Demonstrated experience in controlling project scope while actively mitigating risks and issues for the project through business analysis input
•Demonstrated accountability, task ownership, and maturity
•Experience in working on multiple projects simultaneously with cross matrix teams
•Proven effectiveness with producing high quality work products
•Experience project lifecycle, software development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, hybrid approaches, etc.), and Program management style management and reporting
