Sr. HR Generalist

Responsibilities:
As the Senior HR Generalist  you will apply well-rounded seasoned HR experience and strong recruiting, talent management and HR Program skills to support the business and make an impact through innovative approaches, focus on our most valuable asset - our people, and excellence in HR service delivery.  

Responsibilities:
•The ability to understand the business and its objectives to serve as an effective partner.
• Depth of understanding applicable Federal and State employment related law and compliance, as well as employment related laws and requirements for government contractors.
• Collaborates across HR to support any assigned requisitions with developing and deploying recruitment strategies and full recruiting life-cycle  – reviewing applications and screening applicants, scheduling interviews, assessing skills, offer negotiation to on-boarding of new hires, may administer portions of pre-employment screening process, and appropriate use of ATS system. 
• Collaborates to support Worker's Compensation, Leave of Absence, Safety, Ergonomics, and other compliance programs and activity. 
• Contribute to and may lead projects to support any of the functional areas within Corporate HR such as compliance, policies, systems, operations, 3rd party vendor programs and services, etc. 
• Contribute to and may lead coordination, communication and deployment of programs such as intern and scholarship programs, employee referral program, charitable and employee engagement events and programs, community involvement, and other HR Programs.
• May support team with completion (and may directly perform) a variety of HRIS and HR procedures as need for employees such as clearances, badging, timecards, safety, ergonomics, etc. to meet business needs.
• Reinforce understanding and interpretation of, as well as accountability for adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Handle day-to-day employee relations matters, disciplinary actions, and terminations under the guidance of HR Management resources for assigned group(s).
• Applies good judgement, research and analytical skills to conduct investigations, conflict mediation, and coaching employees and managers in a variety of situations to resolve employee relations matters. Leverages HR Management team resources as applicable for escalation and/or guidance.• Support LOA team members in effective handling of leave of absence activity as needed. Supports facilitation of communication, documentation delivery/retrieval, and conduit for employee and LOA team. 
• Ensures successful completion of compliance training and other required activities by client groups. Delivers training to assign client group(s) as applicable in coordination and collaboration with corporate HR.
• Effectively uses technology for HR workflow and support client groups.
• Leverages knowledge and expertise in HR best practices and legal environment to collaborate and proactively contribute to the development, continuous improvement and implementation of policies, procedures, workflow, programs, and other HR initiatives. May lead or co-lead projects and/or have direct responsibility for components of projects.
•May provide direction or have indirect oversight responsibility for site HR resources.
• Support and participate in broader HR initiatives and projects, and collaborate effectively across the HR department.
• May drive or support special events and activities.
• Provide on-site day-to-day HR presence and client group support during business hours, and as needed to meet business needs. 
• Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
 
Required Skills and Knowledge:

• Solid base knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations, and HR principles & practices.
•Demonstrated experience with successful assessment, advice, and resolution of employee relations matters.
• Ability to work with various computer programs (MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Outlook) on a daily basis with ease, and quickly learn and adapt to new systems and applications
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Ability to adapt to a changing and fast pace environment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including phone etiquette, with ability to be appropriate and effective with audiences at all levels in the organization
• Familiarity and experience with a variety of HR concepts, practices and procedures sufficient to perform job duties.
• Innovative and creative approach to problem solving, planning and implementation.
• Highly dependable.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision given high-level direction

Physical Requirements:

Job is in a busy standard office environment with moderate noise level, sits at a desk and participates in meetings, uses office phone system; views a computer monitor, types on a keyboard and uses a mouse. Reads and comprehends information in electronic (computer) or paper form (written/printed). 
- Sit/stand 8 or more hours per day; has the option to stand as needed while on calls; reach as needed to use office equipment. 
- Consistently viewing a computer screen, typing, using a keyboard and mouse. 
- Uses phone; head-set can be provided. 
- Occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 10lbs. 
 
Education and Experience:

Education and Experience: 
• 5  to  7 years of progressive HR Generalist experience with sufficient depth and breadth to successfully perform job duties with minimal oversight.
• Experience in a fast-paced professional office environment 
• Bachelor degree in Human Resources or other related field is preferred.
• PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

Other Requirements:
Performant is a government contractor, and has certain requirements based upon applicable regulations and client requirements.
• Ability to successfully receive clearances for client requirements (facilitated through the company).
• Must submit to and pass background check.
• Must not have any Federal or State liens resulting from County, State or Federal tax issues.
• Must not have any current defaulted student loans.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check; must not have any felony convictions or specific misdemeanors.
• Must submit to and pass drug screen.
