The purpose of the Contingent CMD role is to be on stand-by in the event Performant requires additional CMD support services, and during that time stay current with applicable Performant healthcare CMS business activities, by:
•  Attending weekly CMS client conference call
•  Attending Internal weekly management update conference call 
•  Complete required compliance training to maintain ability to perform services for Performant

At the request of the Performant Chief Medical Officer, or authorized designee, the Contingent CMD will provide the following services to include, but not be limited to the following:
•   Support client contractual CMD requirements as required and requested by Performant, including being available remotely to cover in CMDs absence
•  Support physician to physician discussions as part of CMS RAC program
•  Other Healthcare business support as may be required by Performant
Required Skills and Knowledge:

• Strong working knowledge of the Medicare (Part A, Part B & DME preferred), Medicaid, and private payer rules, regulations, coverage determinations, policies and procedures
• Operating knowledge of CMS and applicable functions of MAC, QIO, RVC, and RA
• Strong business acumen coupled with analytical and critical thinking abilities
• Strong influencing, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills one-on-one and in group settings.
• Possess ability to work in team environment where collaboration to solve problems, generate solutions and the knowledge transfer process are critical for success.
• Ability to build strong relationships both internal and external to the organization
• Ability to deal well with ambiguity. Can effectively shift gears comfortably, can decide and act without having the total picture, comfortable handling risk and adversity.
• Demonstrates good judgment by anticipating the consequences of actions and weighing multiple, sometimes conflicting, priorities

Education and Experience:

• Experience practicing medicine as a board-certified Doctor or Medicine, or Doctor who is currently licensed to practice medicine. 
• Experience working with Medicare (Part A, Part B & DME preferred), Medicaid, and private payer rules, regulations, coverage determinations, policies and procedures

-Performant is a government contractor and has specific client requirements.
-Must submit to and pass background check. Must not have any Federal or State liens resulting from County, State or Federal tax issues. 
-Must be able to pass a criminal background check; must not have any felony convictions or specific misdemeanors.

-Certain client assignments for this position may require submission to and successful outcome of additional background and/or clearances throughout employment with the Company
