We are looking for a writer, experienced with large enterprises or government agencies (preferably Healthcare related), with practiced communication, analytical and collaboration skills who can translate a variety of standards into functional policy language to capture development requirements, processes and workflows, and training documentation. This position requires you to identify and prioritize multiple tasks, adjust to changing priorities and meet deadlines. 

The writer plans, defines, designs, coordinates, manages, and contributes to internal and external communication of the company’s standards for development requirements and Healthcare business operations with limited oversight or direction.

What You'll Do as a Healthcare Technical writer
Translate business processes, discovery notes and user requirements into organized and clear documentation
Write and maintain mature company-wide information policies from researching and participation in: 
 -Industry standards
 -User interviews
 -Planning sessions
Write and maintain procedures for Healthcare services 
Coordinate documentation review, timely updates and organized maintenance in a shared repository
Maintain informational relationships among complex documents 
Maintain records and files of work, annual reviews, updates and final products 
Assist other document and process owners, such as trainers, QA, Compliance, PMO and Supervisors to incorporate feedback and maintain documentation standards 
Research and respond to requests for information 
Work closely with all Healthcare and IT roles including governance, project management, customer service, development, implementation and account management teams in completing assigned activities 
Draft diagrams and graphical representations 
Write and/or edit technical specifications as needed for IT systems
Attend or monitor business meetings, proactively gleaning documentation needs to support business operations
Contribute effectively to multiple concurrent projects
Meet performance requirements for assigned projects 

Required Skills and Knowledge:

• Experience with large enterprises or government agencies 
• Demonstrated competence with technical, workflow (Visio like) and instructional documentation is a must 
• Demonstrated proficiency with applications such MS Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, PGP and Win7 
• Self-directed and work on projects with a professional attitude and exceptional organizational skills under pressure
• Ability to anticipate information needs based on principles of IT governance or business processes (BPM) and operations 
• Ability to gather information from people with competing priorities 
• Excellent grammar, verbal skills, and interpersonal skills 
• Highly effective communication skills, and can easily communicate with people to help them follow standards

Physical Requirements: 
Job is in a busy standard office environment with moderate noise level, or may be remote. Sits at a desk and participates in meetings, uses office phone system; views a computer monitor, types on a keyboard and uses a mouse. Reads and comprehends information in electronic (computer) or paper form (written/printed). 
- Sit/stand 8 or more hours per day; has the option to stand as needed while on calls; reach as needed to use office equipment. 
- Consistently viewing a computer screen, typing, using a keyboard and mouse. 
- Uses phone; head-set can be provided. 
- Occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 10lbs.
 
Education and Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience writing for a mixed audience including people with mixed business and technical objectives 
• BA or BS degree in a related discipline, or equivalent experience
• portfolio of recent writing samples

Other requirements:
- Must submit to and pass pre-hire background check, as well as additional checks throughout employment- Must not have any current defaulted student loans.
- Must not have any Federal or State liens resulting from County, State or Federal tax issues.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check; must not have any felony convictions or specific misdemeanors.
- Must submit to and pass drug screen.

Performant is a government contractor. Certain client assignments for this position may require submission to and successful outcome of additional background and/or clearances throughout employment with the Company.
